Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
Hi all,
litte update - I double checked it with version 4.1 and "Try next Image" it work fine (except I´m getting an Internet Explorer window informing me about an ActiveX element and asking if I agree to use it (sorry - I don´t know the exact message in english as I´m running a german version of windows ) - but I´m getting this window before so nothing changed at that point...
BUT - the first image is still the mentioned black picture with fading edges
hope this helps to catch the bug
best regards
Marc

Batch Art Finder 4.2 - MSInet not found
Hi
I got the situation that the Batch Art Finder 4.2 seems to work nice until the point where I like to safe the checked images. Hitting "Save checked images" I get the error message:
"Batch Art Funder - the MSInet component could not be found, please install before running the script"
I double checked that MSInet is existing and registered to the system. I did so using:
regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\MSinet.OCX
I never had Batch art finder running correctly so far.
I'm using:
WIN 7 64 Bit
MM 4.0.6.1501
MSInet.ocx 136.008bytes 2009/03/24 from the MS pages
There is no MSInet.ocx in the MM directories.
Any suggestions?

The component will be in your Scripts\Auto folder, although this might not be in the Program Files folder, if you've said to install for the current user.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
Hi trixmoto
thanks for the feedback. There are 3 versions of MSINET.OCX on my system
1) c:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\msinet.ocx 115.016 Bytes
2) c:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSINET.OCX 132.880 Bytes
3) c:\Windows\Systen32\MSINET.OCX 132.880 Bytes
Trying to register 1) fails with error value 0x8002801c. (irrespective of the location)
Registering 2) succeeds but doesn't change the symptom.
I tried to unregister all of the above and register them individually in various variants but no success. I even removed the unregisterd ones to avoid issues with PATH. Or copied the files 1) or 2) in the respective other locations. No difference.
I read the script BatchArtFinder.vbs and find that the OCX is used as a command with direct call.
So I got some questions:
1) Is a registration at all necessary?
2) Is it ok to have different versions of MSINET.OCX on the system?
3) Where should MSINET.OCX be located?
4) Will the version provided with BatchArtFinder support Win7 64Bit?
Regards Thomas

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
1) Yes, the script can't access an unregistered component.
2) Probably, but I suspect only one can be registered at a time.
3) It doesn't matter, but the script tries to copy it into your %windir% folder before registering.
4) I don't know.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
Hi all,
With 4.2. i had the error that no matter what option i click (like next image) nothing happened.
I could only save the first dound image.
With 4.0 (4.1) there are no images found, but the good news was that when i clicked it went further in teh script (but no results for images)
What can i do...and how do i change the script...

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - MSINET not found - Updated 03/07/
Hi I'm adding to this all mixed up thread and hope you can get it together with my previous posts.
Here an actual feedback on my MSINET.OCX issue on WIN 7 64Bit
I get both the MM version and the MS official latest version registered if I put them in the following two directories
1) c:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\msinet.ocx
2) c:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSINET.OCX
but not in
3) c:\Windows\Systen32\MSINET.OCX
Other than with any other Windows version you get the error code 0x8002801c if you don't force regsvr32.exe to run in ADMIN mode (even if you are already logged as admin). I did so with "right click" on CMD -> "Execute as admin" and then run regsvr32 from the prompt.
As far as I can tell the MSInet.ocx 136.008bytes 2009/03/24 from the MS pages seems to be the most recent. So the one shipped with Batch Art Finder is outdated or special.
Using the MS ProcessMonitor I managed to find the following strange entries in the calling stack (using the MM Version of MSINET.OCX)
21:00:16,0504123 MediaMonkey.exe 6924 RegQueryValue HKCR\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{48E59293-9880-11CF-9754-00AA00C00908}\InprocServer32\(Default) SUCCESS Type: REG_SZ, Length: 62, Data: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msinet.ocx
21:00:16,0504697 MediaMonkey.exe 6924 RegOpenKey HKCU\Software\Classes\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{48E59293-9880-11CF-9754-00AA00C00908}\InprocServer32 NAME NOT FOUND Desired Access: Maximum Allowed
21:00:16,0507130 MediaMonkey.exe 6924 RegOpenKey HKCR\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{48E59293-9880-11CF-9754-00AA00C00908}\InprocHandler NAME NOT FOUND Desired Access: Query Value
21:00:16,0557308 MediaMonkey.exe 6924 RegCreateKey HKCR\Licenses\78E1BDD1-9941-11cf-9756-00AA00C00908 ACCESS DENIED Desired Access: Set Value
To me this seems as there is not only a problem with MSINET.OCX but as well an issue with "Licenses\78E1BDD1-9941-11cf-9756-00AA00C00908" which is a key not existing in my registry.
What to say more. I'm stuck. The symptom is unchanged.

Can you manually add the registry key using "regedit.exe"?

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
Hi trixmoto
Manually adding the key HKCR\Licenses\78E1BDD1-9941-11cf-9756-00AA00C00908 (with allowing R/W rights) is a partial success.
1) The error "Batch Art Funder - the MSInet component could not be found, please install before running the script" disappeared.
2) The actions "Try next image", "Skip this album", "Edit album query", "Previous image", "Select all", "Select none", "Select inverse", "Try next image for all" have no effect.
The only exception is "Save: [ ]" which allows me to select a line.
3) Pressing the "Save checked images" button actually saves images, but it seems to be always the last in the display list. The status of "Save: [ ]" will be reset correctly and a note that the image is safed appears.
So I can save now images but I have no control which image.
A side note. There seems to be no negative or positive effect selecting on or the other version of MSINET.OCX. I tried it both with the MM version and the 136.008 Byte version from MS VB package with revision V6-01-9816. All I did was using identical OCX files in c:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto\msinet.ocx and c:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSINET.OCX

I think there are some issues with the javascript, someone has posted a fix that was removing a line of code, I think. Unfortunately I've not had chance to look myself yet, or release a fix.

Hi once more,
just to confirm. IE has JavaScript enabled and it actually works in the normal browser mode as expected. (The test with Google Pics further down the thread worked very nice).
So there must be some other glitch as well.
What I see is that clicking on a function the cursor changes for a moment to a hand and then changes back. So something happens but not the expected function.

Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
I am curious if the source is available for this script. I am looking to do something similar except instead of art, get the album from the web (without having to manually do anything).
Re: Batch Art Finder 4.2 - Updated 03/07/2012
It's a MS OCX. Did you EVER see a MS source code.
The last I've seen was the DOS 2.0 source code in 1984.

By definition the script source is available, because it's a script file, and the source is inside it. Just open the "BatchArtFinder.vbs" file in the text editor of your choice (I used Notepad++).

Sorry, for my comment. I thought michaeljc70 was refering to msinet.ocx.
The Batch Art Finder script is naturally the source code.
