Is there a link somewhere on the forums that would guide me on how to properly manage multiple installations of MM. Also I do have other scripts that are working fine on both so I'm not sure why these would act any different during the installation. Can I simply copy some of the scripts from my mm3 folder and overwrite what is in my mm4 script folder?BKKKPewsey wrote:I am running those scripts, except clear field, with 3 versions of MM np (MM3, MM4.07 & MM4.1 beta)
However only MM3 is a regular install, the others are both portable.
I think the script installers get confused at which place their setting files should go when you have more then 1 monkey on board.
If you uninstall MM3 I would expect the scripts would then install ok or install MM4 as portable which keeps all the settings in that folder (nothing in app data)

Genrefinder won't return any results for artist mode
I've tried using the genrefinder script and can't seem to get any hits in artist mode. The only time I get any results is in Track mode, but the results are all over the place. I've tried it with and without white lists, but it's not working in Artist mode at all. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
I've played with several different settings with no joy, but current settings are as follows:
Log Level: 1-Basic
Run Mode: Artist
Confirmation: Never
Use top results: 0
Minimum match: 0
Unknown Playlist: 0
Unknown Action: Nothing
Seed Artist: Artist
Automatically Run: Never
after (seconds): 0
[checked] tag with multiples
[checked] check library before querying
[checked] clear cache before every run
[checked] ignore values which are decades
Update Lists:
Genre: None

Try setting the log level a little higher and then checking out the logfile - this should explain.

A very nice and beautiful thing here.

Just a fun thing, and one that made me laugh...
If you have "Boombox" by The Lonely Island, put it through GF... Nice little easter egg, I suppose.

Im sorry, but this is not working for me, but i wish it would.
Im always getting - no suggested changes. (when confirmation is enabled)
What Im doing wrong?
My settings are like this:
from the log:
update:
Changed to Artist from PUID and it is working now , but why PUID can't do the job? I guess it would be much more accurate?
Thnx,
Roger

Re: Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012
This script uses the Last.Fm webservices, so the value that is used for the query always needs to be the artist name. Switching to use a PUID field does not use the PUID to do a PUID lookup, it uses the PUID to do an artist lookup, which is why you were getting no results.

Re: Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012
Hello & congratulations for your script.
I wish there could be an option like "choose the name of the tag where to write" that we could leave unchanged our existing "genre" tags and write your new keywords in a/some different tags named <STYLE> or <MOOD> or <OCCASION> or <KEYWORDS> for example ...
It would be such a great feature that foobar2000 does not have yet out of the box ...

Re: Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012
This is exactly what the script does. In the "Lists" settings panel there is a dropdown to determine which field you are updating, Genre is just the default.

Re: Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012
hello and thx for the great work,
first of all, sorry for my bad english. i wish that genrefinder does not change the value if it already in the white list.
Settings:
Run Mode: "Track"
Confirmation: "Never"
Use top results: 0
Minimum: 0
Unknown playlist: ""
Unknown action: "Nothing"
Seed artis: "Artist"
Autom. run: "OnPlay"
after (seconds): 2
All checkboxes except "Show toolbar button" are unchecked.
Genre|White|Pop;Rock/Pop;Blues
an example;
Track xyz has already the genre "Rock/Pop". GenreFinder get "Pop" from last.fm and set this value.
i think an option like "Only overwrite 'wrong' values" is what i need. Any chance to get it?
thx
josch

Re: Genre Finder 5.0 - Updated 05/08/2012
Greetings, my MP3s are tagged with Artist = lastname, firstname. IE, "Swift, Taylor". This causes Genre Finder to not hit a match with LAST.FM.
Is there any way to work around this without retagging my files?
Thanks

Not at the moment, no. But I've added this to my list, so hopefully in the next version it will be able to handle this.
