MM8 /RT crashes on large library build

MM8 (Metro MM) crashes in the same place on a large 30K track library scan. I happen to have both Surface RT and a nice Haswell ultrabook running Win 8 regular with 8G. It crashes at exactly the same place in both, so unlikely to be memory or environment issue.

I did file a case and send MM support a file, but they have not responded for a few days.

Anybody have any ideas? It's not the issue of a few bad tracks, I'm sure there are some but old classic desktop MM used to just grey them out and move on. I have been using the exact same database for years.

I have generally notice MM8 is a bit crashy - it often just disappears and you have to restart it from scratch.
