MMA Pro icon disappeared [#11860]

I have been using MMA beta. Last week I bought MMA Pro from Google Play. It loaded and worked perfectly. Now the icon is gone from my GS4. I still have the MMA eta icon. What should I do short of downloading it again? Could I download it again and would I have to pay another fee?

I think if you go into the menu-->About MediaMonkey it will display MediaMonkey Pro (Beta) at the top

You are correct! So does that mean the icon on my home page that says MMA beta is actually MMA Pro beta and I don't have to worry about downloading again or expiring after 15 days.

I think that the fact that MMA is reporting it is Pro means that it is .. pro. But because it is beta you will still want to download (should auto install)

Thanks for your response. It's a bit confusing. I think they should say either MMA Pro or MMA Pro beta. Nonetheless, it's a great program and works very well for me on my GS4 and on my computer. It's comprehensive, powerful and easy to use once you get the hang of it.

There are quite a few Android apps that have a trial or limited functionality free version, much like MM:A. When you buy the Pro (sometimes called unlock or full, depends on the app) app, it is nothing more than a license application. Once you run it, it does nothing more than tell the main app that it is now the full or pro version. As such, its icon is no longer needed and is hidden. (This helps to keep you app drawer clean.) This also means that if you install the Pro app by itself, it does nothing. You need to have both the Pro app and the Beta (or trial, or whatever it will be called) version of MM:A installed.

Hope that clears it up for you.
tl;dr: Pro app is just a license key. You only need to run it once, after that it does nothing.

Thanks, but that's not quite what happened. I had both icons on my phone, one said MM beta and the other MM pro. Now, just MM beta is there, although I believe it represents the licensed pro version and will accept beta updates. I wonder why the MM pro icon didn't stay on my screen, rather than the beta. Doesn't quite make sense to me as it is difficult to know for sure that I have the licensed version. Further, if a beta does not come out within the 15 day period before it expires, as has been noted many times in the disclaimrers, I hope I don't loose all my playlists and mp3's as happend once before to me.

To verify Pro status, just press the menu key while in MM:A and view the About screen. It should reflect your pro status.

The pro icon should perhaps be renamed to "Pro activator." Its sole purpose is to tell the main MM:A app you have purchased the full version.

They could add it as an in-app purchase but not sure what that would require coding or market-wise. Not sure what the margin is for in-app vs. App only.

I bought MM Pro the other day, so naturally I uninstalled the beta version. Turns out it's a key, not an app - convention is if it's a key you put "key" in the title.

With just MM pro installed it says "you need to install MM" or similar, and provided a button. I hit the button, it opened the app store, it said not found. When I searched for MM beta and installed that it worked, and said "congrats you've upgraded to pro". The pro link still doesn't actually run MM, it still says "install MM".

Basically some rationalization and bug fixing needs to be done.
