MM won't see SD card

Post by elton.sucek »

I just noticed MM won't see my SD card anymore, if I put it in the notebook's SD Slot.

If I put the same card in a USB adapter it appears normally.

Is this a bug or there is a workaround?

Thanks

And you made sure it isn't disabled under Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync in MediaMonkey?

No, it isn't disabled. Maybe I had deleted it along some old devices I don't have anymore.

Anyway, I thought, even if deleted, it would appear again when you conected the device to the PC.

Yes, when you remove Device Profiles they should be recreated when the device/memory is connected again (not the case if you disable/remove the plugin file). Does Windows see the card? It could be that the reader is damaged/broken.

That what I thought.

Yes, windows see it, even mediamonkey in "computers" see it.

The only problem is that it don't appear as a sync device. But if I put the same card in a USB adapter, it syncs normally.

The problem is only with the notebook SD slot.

You can capture the inserting of the SD card in a debug log (step 4b) and send the log to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=12&t=69 That may show why it isn't recognized as syncable device.

Well, a few days ago I exchanged my notebook for a PC, so I can't reproduce this error anymore.

Also, seems it was an isolated problem that was affecting just me, maybe it isn't worth to keep looking at this matter anymore.

But I want to thank you for your help, I really apreciated it.

i have this same problem too. it shows up in "my Computer" but not in MM. it's not disabled in the settings and it's only been like this since i formatted the sdcard. Maybe i formatted it wrong, how should an sdcard ideally be formatted, or does it matter? also, i might have formatted it while it was in use by mediamonkey, would that cause it?

This is an old thread, and perhaps has been answered,
but here is how I overcame this situation.

I have a multi-card reader with microSD card slot in the add-on bay of my media PC,
and Windows recognizes media inserted, but not MediaMonkey.

However, when I put it in a USB-A male adapter and insert it in my USB hub,
MM sees it, sync works, everything.

A bit of a headscratcher, but worth trying.
