Wireless Speakers Pioneer SMA

Post by fraserp »

Hi Folks
Sorry for the probably trivial nature of this question. I have been using MediaMonkey for years and have just bought a Pioneer SMA4 wireless speaker. Finally worked out how to connect it into the network and have been able to play a track to it from Windows 7 using the "Play to" function. I have been trying to work out how I can now play to it using MM. Apparently it supports dlna (and airplay) but all I want to do is play a MediaMonkey playlist on it. Is there a simple way to do this as the thought of having to using WMP doesn't thrill me (at all :( )....thanks

Right click on Player in MediaMonkey and select Choose Player to change to a DLNA renderer.

Thanks Lowlander for your quick response. I didn't exactly understand/follow your instructions as I didn't actually understand the "right click on Player", however I went into options have now been able to set the MediaMonkey DLNA renderer and it now appears as an icon under "network -> media devices" (MediaMonkey Renderer as well as a MediaMonkey Server). Is that what you meant???

I hope that is right. But.....now when I am in MediaMonkey, I still don't understand what I need to do to get a track to play on the new speaker (Pioneer SMA4). I am obviously missing something (and I imagine it is a simple)......thanks

No, you right click on the Player in the MediaMonkey interface. Then from the context menu select Choose Player and select your DLNA client.

Thanks again lowlander. I have found out the problem and the reason why I didn't understand your directions....I was still running 4.0. something and it looks like the functionality is in 4.1 and above. Updated to lastest version and of course now your directions make sense (ie the option exists). Many thanks for your help. While I am here though, has anyone noticed that the "Play/pause" button doesn't work, so when a track is playing if I press II (pause) the music keeps playing to my wireless device, yet when I press >> it goes to the next track. Could this be a skin issue????

Thanks again. F

You may want to capture that in a debug log (step 4b) and send to support: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... ?f=20&t=69
