I am having an issue synchronisation my tags.
I am using Mp3tag as an external tool so what I do is select some tracks export them via External tools to mp3tag update the tags then Synchronisation them in MM. what appears to happen is the updates that I did in Mp3tag is overwritten by the MM tags.
What I what is the MM database to be updated with the update I made in mp3tag. Is this possible?
Thanks for any help.

Re: TAG Synchronisation
My guess is that when you tried to sync MMW said ... well my db says this file should be 'title=x' but look the file tag says 'title=y' .. sync it so it is X.
You really shouldn't use external tools once the files are in MMW as MMW will have no knowledge that you did it or that you expect these external 'changes' to be right.

Where's the db and ini stored

Re: TAG Synchronisation
@cldcp00:
If you tag your songs in Mp3tag (external), you have to be sure that MediaMonkey get this external made changes back into its own database.
I do it this way:
- Tagging in the external program as I like it
- Delete this externally tagged songs from the MediaMonkey database (only from the database, not the file itself!)
- Re-Add/Re-Scan the external tagged songs into the MM database.
The drawback of this process:
You loose every information stored only in the MM-database for this songs, like "star ratings", "Played #", "Last Played", "Skipped" and maybe others.

Re: TAG Synchronisation
Why are you having to do that? Add/Rescan should be updating the tag changes accordingly without recourse to that. If this is not the case, then it's a bug. If it's not a bug, then it's a significant failing in the software. Period.Delete this externally tagged songs from the MediaMonkey database

@tr1am: I'm not 100% sure if this step is really necessary. I had some strange results when I did not.

Re: TAG Synchronisation
Synchronize Tags save the MM database values to the tags. As they're the old values it overwrites the changes you've made.
Rescanning updates the MM database with tags in the files and thus is needed if you change tags outside of MM. There is no need to delete the files from the Library though. Simple rescanning will do with the default settings (Tools > Options > Library).
