[SOLVED] iPhone 11/IOS13 sync

Post by enserf »

Hi folks- down here in New Zealand, we are first cab off the rank for the new iPhones! But MM4 doesn't recognise the firmware. Appears to synch, but nothing actually transferred to the phone.
Any current fixes or anything on the way? Thanks!

I have an iPhone Xs Max with IOS 13, iTunes 12.10.0.7 and Media Monkey 4.1.24.1883.

When connecting the iPhone the message:

"The iPhone/iPad firmware is not compatible with this version of MediaMonkey. You'll be able to view the contents of the device. but will not be able to write to it."

Since the iPhone sync'ed last week with the IOS 12.4.1 release, I'm guessing a patch is necessary for IOS 13. My iPad Pro 12.9 Inch syncs okay that has IOS 12.4.1.

You need the latest beta of MediaMonkey 4.1.25 for iOS13 support: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 54426&sd=d

Thank you- that appears to be working, albeit very slowly compared with previous versions. It appears to freeze on every 5th song or so then continues. Could be a while with 3,706 tracks!
In answer to your previous question, iTunes 12.10.0.7 and MM 4.1.24.1883 is what I was using, now beta 4.1.25.1888

Hi,

I did the update to the latest beta with IPhoneX/IOS13, and the replication speed is sluggish, in comparison to older versions.
I tend to blame Apple for this, but maybe you need to put some effort into this.

I usually send my m3u file for synchronisation purposes to my mobile phone, and when the playlist syncs, it stops every ~10 tracks for quite a long time,
then it picks up again and continues for the next 10 tracks and so on.

Systeminfo:
OS: Windows 10 Beta (Build 10.0.18985), itunes (Version 12.10.0.7), MediaMonkey (4.1.25.1889)
IPhone X, IOS 13

I just installed the beta update as well to work with my iPhone 11 pro with iOS 13.
I have to agree that the performance does hang a lot, and in my attempts provide no success in loading even a single track.

First attempt it hung on first song and had to kill after no progress in more than 10 minutes. Process would not terminate except by closing MM. I restarted and tried a different mini album to load and that did not work either. Third attempt with a single song and no luck, although it go through 95% of process before hanging.

Capture the sync in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... f=12&t=341

I wanted to provide an update as I am able to successfully able to sync music to my iPhone 11 pro now using Media Monkey beta 4.1.25.1889
Key to success:
Upgrade iTunes to latest version 12.10.0.7
Upgrade phone to iOS 13.1
Synchronization is still slow, but does successfully complete each time. I tested with both mp3 and m4a files from my NAS and from my local desktop.

Hi,
It would be valuable if you can create LOG file as explained here https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... f=12&t=341 as it may show us where slowdowns and delays happen in order to improve it?

You can compress Log file and make it smaller and then either open support ticket or Send me PM with link where I can download it and send to rest of devs for analyze.

Confirming that I get the same error message after updating to iOS 13 using the MM 4.1.24.1883. Can no longer transfer files to iOS device. Have not tried the beta fix.

The latest beta can sync to iOS 13. Are you having issues with sync or is it not recognizing the device? Which exact version are you on (Help > About)?

Not using beta. Using MM 4.1.24.1883. Error is as above: "The iPhone/iPad firmware is not compatible with this version of MediaMonkey. You'll be able to view the contents of the device. but will not be able to write to it."

As stated above, you'll need the latest beta of 4.1.25 for iOS13+ devices.

I've just installed Build 1891 and things are moving at a refreshingly fast pace compared to earlier builds. It seems to be at a pace of 20 songs/minute, and consistent. I expect to have my 3,400 songs synched to my iPhone X in about 2 1/2 hours. I'm very pleased.
