I've dawdled about upgrading for ages and it's now or never. All I want to know is:
1. Can I freely convert m4A and m4p files to mp3?
2. Do I need to buy the MediaMonkey Codec Pack separately to play/convert M4A files > 48KHz to MP3?
3. Is an alternative to the now defunct Freedb to automatically tag songs from CDs I import included?
I just want a no-hassle program so I can load my stuff onto my Fiio! MM has worked quite well until now but I want to be sure the Gold version will do all I want before buying. Thanks for listening!

Re: MM4 Gold: simple questions
1) Yes, unlimited encoding of MP3 is included.
2) For encoding (creating) M4A/M4P yes, but decoding not necessarily: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/ind ... aac-tracks
3) The latest release has a alternative for freedb: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 54426&sd=d

Re: MM4 Gold: simple questions
Thanks Lowlander. So IF I buy MM Gold, and the codec pack, I will be able to play and convert to my hearts content, to songs I purchased from iTunes that are presently copy-protected (grrr); and m4A files >48 kHz (also from iTunes grrr why are some songs on an album like this...)?
The auto-tagging looks sorted too.

No, copyright protected files can't be converted by MediaMonkey.

Re: MM4 Gold: simple questions
I remember iTunes had a 'upgrade' replacement program many years back. Don't know if they still do.

Re: MM4 Gold: simple questions
There are apps ($) that claim to convert M4P to a usable format; I had mixed success with their trial versions. Other people have used iTunes Match ($) to do this. The way that worked best for me (takes time though) was to burn a music disc (not an MP3 disc) with the M4P files and re-rip them. https://www.techwalla.com/articles/how- ... m4p-to-mp3
