I am running version 4.1.31.1919 Gold of MM.
I have a Denon AVR X-4000 and pushing music from MM to the Denon using the remote speaker plugin works fine.
However, I would rather pull from the Denon.
I think it sounds a bit better. (maybe I am only hearing things...I don't know.)
Anyways, I have a few issues/questions:
If I use the Network input on the Denon and then open media servers, I see my MM library. (Running as a service)
I can browse, play albums, files, playlists etc. with no problems.
However, I can't really control MM using the Denon's remote.
Pause will not pause the playback.
The video output from the Denon implies enter on the Denon remote should pause playback but that doesn't work either. Neither one of those buttons do anything, the file just keeps playing.
Stop works as advertised as does Previous and Next.
Also, it seems to me, if I hit next, it should increment the skip counter.
I have after all skipped the file.
It doesn't do that however.
Anyone know why these things aren't working and have a suggestion for me?
Another issue:
I thought I would try setting up the UPnP/DLNA renderer thinking that may work better for me.
I can't figure out how to get my Denon to show up as an available player.
Can it be a player?
If so, how the heck do you get it set up in MM?
Any help/suggestions appreciated.

Re: Control issues pulling from Denon AVR
Any help with my second question?
How do I get my Denon to show up as a UPnP/DLNA renderer under Options>Player?
Is there an ini file or something that needs to be edited?
I've searched the help and I am not finding anything...

Hi,
May Suggest that you install latest MM5 from viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86639&sd=d as a PORTABLE INSTALLATION and do a test. It will ask you to import MM4 LIbrary, but after test you can simply delete portable installation folder as it do not touch system resources.
Based on very brief look your Denon is capable to be DLNA client, but to act as DLNA renderer.
Here is Search I used, maybe you can fined better settings https://www.google.com/search?q=Denon+A ... 8&oe=utf-8

Re: (Solved) Control issues pulling from Denon AVR
I think you're right, that Denon can't do what I want.
I will install MM5 in a VM and mess around with it.
I am not running Win 10 on my main desktop.
I prefer my spyware straight up...not masquerading as an operating system.
I am actually considering buying a network player like the Denon DNP800NE or a Yamaha WXC-50.
Thanks for the response.

Hi,
I like how Yamaha WXC-50 specs sounds, but it is pre-amp.

Re: Control issues pulling from Denon AVR
So I got MediaMonkey to see my Denon as a DLNA client.
I can choose the Denon as my player and push music to it from MediaMonkey.
BUT, I still can't control playback using the Denon.
AND, I can't even pause a track using MediaMonkey on my computer!
If I start a track in MMW, the play button becomes a pause button like it should.
If I then click that, it shows as a play button for about one second and goes back to being a pause button.
The track never pauses.
So the only way I can stop the music if the phone rings is to either mute the Denon using it's remote or stop the song in MMW.
I don't understand why basic player functions don't work.
It's driving me nuts.
Any ideas?
By the way, if I use the internal player in MMW and use the remote speaker plugin, at least then I can pause a track using MMW.

Re: Control issues pulling from Denon AVR
Wow, it doesn't work in MM5 either.
No control when using a DLNA player from MM5 or the player's remote itself.
Unbelievable...

Re: Control issues pulling from Denon AVR
Hi,
We are already tracking similar behavior and collecting feedback to see most common issue observed with different manufacturers in order to make changes that would work on all of them.
It would be great if you can open support ticket and supply us small Debug log as described at viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643 so that we can actually see communication from MM5 and device showing the behavior.
Thank you very much.

Re: Control issues pulling from Denon AVR
As requested, I have submitted a ticket with a debug log.
Ticket #3423.
Note that it is for MM version 5, not version 4.
Also note that I am seeing different behavior between the normal version of MM 5 and the debug version.
That is pretty weird...
