Same artwork for multiple songs

Same artwork for multiple songs
I'm experiencing a problem on my MMA were nearly all my 4000 songs have the same artwork. How can I correct this? MMW doesn't have this problem.
Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
Do all these Albums have proper Album and Album Artist tags? MMW will sync 1 Artwork per Album and Album Artist combo.

Yes, they have. Both in MMW and MMA
Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
Any help would still be appreciated......
Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
Hi,
Personally as I use MMA exclusively on my devices and car head unit I changed Destination file-mapping to "\Music\<Title>\<Artist> - <Title>" so that each file is its own folder

Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
That could work. At the moment I've got the following setup:
Music: \MediaMonkey\Music\Audio files\<Filename>
Classical: \MediaMonkey\Music\Classical\<Filename>
Audiobooks: \MediaMonkey\Music\Audiobooks\<Filename>
etc....
Which puts all my music in 1 single folder in MMA. And then the setup for the Artwork.
Artwork: \MediaMonkey\Music\Albumart\<Filename>\albumart.jpg
In my opinion I have the feeling that "\Music\<Title>\<Artist> - <Title>" creates a lot of unnecessary folders for no reason. Is there a way I can keep my setup? Or do I MUST allow MediaMonkey to create more folders like you suggested?

Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
Hi,
To be honest I do not care as I use MMA for playback so I use search and browser.

Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
You know that 'I do not care' is not an answer to my question right. I'm not the creator/developer of this extremely cumbersome program called MediaMonkey, so if you don't know the answer to my question or you don't want to, then please ask a colleague of yours. Maybe they know....
Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
MMA 1.x relies on Google Media Scanner for scanning of media files. This can cause problems.
A direct MMW > MMA Sync should bypass these problems, however proper organization of files on the device and tags are still recommended. So as mentioned above:
1) Both Album and Album Artist tags need to be in order and unique to each Album to have MMW Sync a different Artwork per Album. If MMW sees files as one Album, only 1 Artwork will be Synced. Furthermore Artwork needs to be in order in MMW, as Sync will Sync only 1 Artwork from 1 file on the Album.
2) Having Albums in their own folder is also recommended. Especially when Artwork are Synced as image files (instead of embedded), it's best to have an Album folder with this Artwork, instead of having multiple Albums in a folder with multiple Artworks.
MMA 2.x will introduce its own scanner which should improve things.

Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
Ok thank you,
How do you recommend to change the following properly?
\MediaMonkey\Music\Audio files\<Filename>
And does this also needs to be changed?
\MediaMonkey\Music\Albumart\<Filename>\albumart.jpg

Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
You set in the Device Profile in MMW as the Location MediaMonkey should Sync files to. Artwork can be set to by Synced as external Artwork files or embedded (latter is recommended). Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync in MM4.

Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
I'm sorry but can you explain that a bit more to me? I understand the 'Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync in MM4' part, but not what you mean with your first and second sentence.
Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
I'll use illustrations for MediaMonkey 5 from: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... Tracks/5.0
File locations: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/File:W ... ations.jpg
Artwork settings: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... .0#Tagging
Both are very similar to MediaMonkey 4 settings.

Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
Thank you, I will dive into this some more tomorrow.
Re: Same artwork for multiple songs
So for what I've seen and read, the solution to my problem can be fixed as following:Lowlander wrote: ↑Thu Aug 11, 2022 5:11 pm I'll use illustrations for MediaMonkey 5 from: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... Tracks/5.0

Disable 'Sync all artwork to file folders' and enable 'Copy artwork to file tag', so that each song gets his own artwork. Can the music setup then stay as '\MediaMonkey\Music\Audio files\<Filename>'? Or does it also needs to be changed? To something like '\MediaMonkey\Music\<Title>\<Artist> - <Title>' for example.
Or does '\MediaMonkey\Music\Audio files\<Filename>' only needs to be changed when I'm using 'Sync all artwork to file folders'?
It's kind of confusing and complex if you ask me
