Error trying to install 5.0.4.2659 Beta

Post by Deadcool »

I had been running 5.0.4.2657 this morning, but made sure it was exited before running the install for 2659. However, during install I'm getting this error --

C:\App\MediaMonkey 5\MMHelper.dll

An error occurred while trying to replace the existing file:
DeleteFile failed: code 5.
Access is denied.

I tried Retry, but got the same error. Did 2657 not unload completely?

Yes, it was not showing. I rebooted and that appears to have cleared it up.

It means the system still has a lock on the file, a reboot would fix that: https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... or-code-5/

Error Installing 2660 over 2659

Post by Rob_S »

My install of build 2660 would not proceed past where it said cannot copy file "MMHelper.dll" so after first checking for any residual MM5 instances in task manager and finding none, and a few retries with the same error, I went into the program file folder and renamed the old copy of the file which I was able to do in explorer.

Having done that, the installation proceeded and completed and is working fine so far. The only other thing was it deleted my pinned taskbar icon for MM5, so I had to re-pin it.

I had the same problem installing build 2960. That's two consecutive updates I've tried installing that are having this problem. Nothing else on my system has changed.

Hi,
Hi,
File is most likely locked by Windows or some other app.

You can use free LockHunter to determine what is locking the file.
