Saving MM5 Settings [#16176]

Post by mikeyp »

Is there a way to save my MM5 settings so that if I need to re-install that I can just restore my settings, e.g. views, skin, etc.... Thanks!

Hi,
Yes, just make backup of "AppData/Roaming/MediaMonkey5"

HINT:
MediaMonkey.ini -> Contains general MM settings
Persistent.json -> Contains Views and UI positions
MM5.DB -> Actual MM library and Device Profiles

This should be part of the backup/restore
Where's the db and ini stored
Reporting Bugs
Where tags are stored

Totally agreed, especially as it seems no big thing to develop, and I guess a lot of users aren't aware of that.

Hi,
Please note that even slight deviation of OS UI settings would not work on backup restore and MM5 can crash.
Same goes for INI file.

Only MM5.DB is actually important and it is covered by current backup.

Future improvements are planned at https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=16176
