1256 Bogus rating attribute in WMA [#5977]
If I set the rating of a WMA track in Now Playing, MM writes a "SBD/Rating" attribute - this fails to accord with the Help "table of all properties stored in the Library vs. which properties are stored in Tags."

So, MediaMonkey uses the rating field as the WMA standard set it and now it's not good? Seems to me that that just the Help needs to be updated.

Uh?? There's no mention of this SBD/Rating attribute there.

'SDB/Rating' is necessary in order to store more precise rating that just full stars (i.e. half-stars). For compatibility reasons this can't be done in the WM/SharedUserRating attribute.

Thanks. If you have an accurate table of properties used by MM, it would useful if you would publish it for users.

Re: 1256 Bogus rating attribute in WMA [#5977]
Though marked fixed, and the Help now says:
the issue remains for the case of zero stars. For zero stars MM sets the standard property WM/SharedUserRating to one - the same at it sets for one star. This non-standard behaviour causes interoperability failure with other apps:WMA Rating
Yes [full stars] (SharedUserRating)
Non standard [Half-stars] (SDB/Rating)
Also it sets the non-standard SDB/Rating, which it should not, since it is not a half-star value

Right, closed now as there doesn't seem to be any change needed.Eight years later, this still shows unassigned and open.

I now see "Resolution no change required", surprisingly.
What makes you think no change is needed?

Re: 1256 Bogus rating attribute in WMA [#5977]
I tried to explain in Mantis. The documentation doesn't state that non-standard tags aren't present when standard tags are, so from my point of view it's correctly documented. Whether it's good from user's perspective, I guess it depends on use case.

Thanks. Just saw your Mantis comment that is subsequent to mine above. I'll reply there when my Mantis access is restored.
