Hi there,
This seems to be a new bug, as I don't recall it happening in other versions of MediaMonkey with previous libraries (although I have recently started my library from scratch).
If I am in Library View, viewing a list of tracks and I rename the "Artist" field, it seems to automatically change the "Album Artist" field to the same as the Artist field, resulting in lots of albums that are split.
For example, if in Library View:
- Track is "Day by Day"; Artist: "Doris Day", Album Artist: "Doris Day".
- Rename artist field to "Doris Day; Les Brown".
- Album Artist also becomes "Doris Day; Les Brown".
But the album artist *should* still be "Doris Day", not "Doris Day; Les Brown".
It doesn't always happen, but happens more often than not. It doesn't seem to happen if I edit the Artist value using the Properties box (shift + enter).
Any help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks!

Re: Changing Artist also changes Album Artist
In MediaMonkey 5 you'll need to actually click the Album Artist field to see this happen. It won't happen without selecting the Album Artist field in Properties.

Re: Changing Artist also changes Album Artist
So, is this a feature of MediaMonkey 4 that was deliberate and won't be fixed?
I'm not quite ready for MediaMonkey 5 just yet, as I use a lot of scripts and plugins that I believe can't be used in MM5.

Sorry for the language. But if I switch to English and then to German, I lose the gold status and with it my defined hotkeys.
TOOLS> Options> Library ... activate the checkbox
MM4 restart
Rescan collection

Re: Changing Artist also changes Album Artist
MediaMonkey 4 is no longer developed as MediaMonkey 5 is the update for it.
Album Artist being filled has always been the case if you add Artist and Album Artist is unknown. This is because MediaMonkey relies on Album Artist to define what files belong to an Album.

Re: Changing Artist also changes Album Artist
I live very well with MM4 and the many scripts, some of which I wrote in VBScript just for myself.
Sorry, but I only test MM5 when I want to annoy myself.

You previously wrote otherwise "As of 4.0.3 this isn't happening anymore. Editing Artist doesn't change Album Artist."

Could you clarify?
