Thumbnails

Post by lastdemuth@gmail.com »

I use MM4 on two machines via a flash drive I move back and forth.

I move the MM.DB file and all works well, with a notable issue.

I lose thumbnails for Music Video. I have about 30,000 video files, so it is a significant issue. (And over 100k audio, which seem perfect!)

I suspect they are in some form of .tmp file I am not moving. Can anyone advise either what additional file to move (if feasible) to the second machine, or a process to FORCE a regeneration of thumbnails. I have rescanned with different variables, and all have failed.

Also a bit technical question. Is "Music Video" designation actually included in the tags?
If I scan totally net new database, it seems to have them all as simple video?

Did you install MediaMonkey as a Portable Application on the drive, or are you just moving the database file across?

Just moving the file

I had initially tried to update all the files to match DB but had little luck in replicating at new location (When I scanned for net new, significant numbers of the videos came up wacky), so I just hacked the file off, and it worked as desired, alas sans the thumbs.

Now works on both machines, with one missing the thumbs.

I would start fresh, but I lose too much :(

Do you have the folder VideoThumbnails in %APPDATA%\MediaMonkey5\?

I am in MM4.

BUT you steered me well!

I do have one here

\Roaming\MediaMonkey\MetadataCache\Thumbnails

Big file! Can I move it over? (I assume so)

Thanks for the tip!

I would assume this works based on using the same database.
