File Inaccessible Issue

Post by RickMM »

I just opened up my MMW5 and panic when all the tracks came up as (I don't recall the exact error message) "File 'title of song'.flac location is inaccessible" and the source column had a right turn arrow pointing to a what look like a database symbol? In the location field for each track it had something like 'EData]' at the start (where E: volume name is [Data]). The correct location should read E:\Music\....

Anyway, I closed MM and re-open it and the issue disappeared.

What happened?

So that we can better guess the cause, you should tell us some details:
What is the exact build-Nr. of your MM5?
Is your E: a built-in HDD, an external drive or a share on a NAS?
(External or mapped drives are sometimes not correctly recognized by Windows [no drive letter])

No drive letter either means the drive is inaccessible (check in File Explorer) or that the driveID has changed (shouldn't happen for internal drives. This latter problem can be fixed with re-assign drive: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... sign_Drive
