Player Gone

Post by rrfpacker »

So, I was trying to move my player from the bottom to the top and let go of the cursor too soon. Now the player is in never land and I can't find it. Shut down monkey, restarted, changed skins...all trying to get it back.

Any thoughts?

You can try an interface reset.

I tried that and the player shows up while MM starts up and then it disappears.

Anything else? :)

Try a clean install (minus removing the database file).

Lowlander,

So, do I just do an install over my current portable install, or do what the instructions say...install to a different folder.

But if I install to a different folder do I need to copy the database over? And if I do that how does that fix my current problem?
I'm pretty ignorant about the MM intricacies, as you probably recall. I know just enough to be dangerous.

Thank you for your help.

You do a full uninstall, remove all remaining MediaMonkey files, except the database file, then install the same way again.

I put off an uninstall for months because of major fears of messing up and losing all my playlists. Two days ago while starting MM I noticed at the bottom of the page the missing player just kind of floating there. I was able to grab it and attach it back where it belongs.

Weird, right?
