Album art sync issue with MMA on my FiiO DAP

Post by Rene3672 »

Hello!

first, I searched the forum to see if I could find some answers, but couldn´t realy.

So to my issue:
- I manage all my ripped CDs (mostly classical music) with MWA
- All files are well tagged and all albums/tracks have album arts
- Usually, I have multiple arts per album (eg. front cover, back cover, illusation, etc.)
- In MMW, the front cover is always displayed (it is also the first in the list of album arts in the album/track properties)
- I am syncing my collection on an SD Card, which is then on my FiiO M11 DAP
- everything so good so far, all music is on my DAP
- issue is with the album art, as follow: if the album have only one album art then all good as well, it is displayed in MMA
- If the album has multiple arts (like mentioned earlier) - fron cover, back cover, etc, MMA will be displayed the last (in the list of arts in the properties in MMW) art (eg. back cover or illustration) and not the first one (as in MMW) which is the front cover

I tried several different sync settings (art in tags only, art in folder only, both together) and I can´t get that fixed.

BTW, if I access the library on my DAP with the in built media player (FiiO Music), all albums/tracks have all the front cover art.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a bug/feature (when having multiple arts, MMA always take the last one?)?

Sorry, if this was already discussed in the forum, couldn´t find it so far.

I would really appreciate some help/hint.

Thanks!
René

just to add one point (which is probably not really related):
if I access my library directly on my NAS (where my library is sitting) via MMA (connecting to media server) on my DAP, all albums are displayed with the right album art (front cover)

one more thought:
I read in some other threads, that MMA is taking only one album art file and that it should be the first one.
Given that first one, means the first (usually front cover) seen on MMW (under album/track details), could that potentially be that actually MMA is taking the last one?
I was checking several tracks and compare album art between MMA and MMW. All the ones I looked at had the last album art on MMA (not the first, nor second, or so....)

Am I doing something wrong here?

Despite of this, I love MM :-)

Hi,
If possible try setting things like this on clean SDCard/Profile:

Thank you Peke.
I'm pretty sure this was the profile I had in my first try. Then I try with different settings to see if I could get the right album arts. All attempts failed.
Meanwhile, I tried the WiFi sync (after empty/reformatted SD card) synching specifically the albums with the wrong art directly on my DAP. And with WiFi sync the correct (first album art / cover (front)) is synched!
Now I reset everything and started yesterday evening the full WiFi sync. I have a huge library, roughly 1.2 TB of flac content. So that is going to last a few days I guess. Until now sync is still ongoing.
When done I will report if all artworks are correct.
Thanks again !

Quick update. WiFi sync works perfectly (just taking ages with my far too big classical music library). Using the same profile as I tried with usb sync, all files are correctly synced with the right album art.
Think this thread can be closed.
