I've been getting annoying crashes with the newest build (5.0.3.2627). The error comes from MM (not Win):
"Application throw an exception Exception EExternalException in module KERNELBASE.dll at 0012C3A2, External exception E0000008".

This coincides with another new problem I'm having. Every time I launch MM and/or plug-in my phone, a new Device is created under Devices & Services (old name with a number suffix). Of course, this doesn't have a profile set up with any songs and playlists specified. So must painstakingly set those up to match the previous profile (which has become useless). Moreover, the new phone profile won't sync properly anyway. It goes through the motions but none of the playlists on the phone will update. So I must manually delete the entire Android Mediamonkey folder and re-install. Then re-sync.
But that typically doesn't work, so I typically have to go through several uninstall-reinstall cycles. I've tried regressing to recent, earlier Win10 builds and also on the Android side, deleted and rebuilt the entire Android music folder, rebuilt the database on the Win10 side, plus other things. I've battled this sort of thing with MM for almost 20 years now, with various iOS and Android phones, PCs and Win versions.
Is it just me or is MM basically impractical and hopelessly unreliable when it comes to syncing with a smartphone?

Re: MM Win10 crashes
Please capture the crash and the device profile duplication in separate debug logs (step 4b) and attach the logs to separate Support Tickets: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643
This isn't typical and a developer will analyze the logs to see why this happens on your setup.

Re: MM Win10 crashes
Hi, im facing a similar issue where after running for a few hours the same EExternalException in module KERNELBASE.dll E0000008 error is thrown. Was there a resolution to this?

Hi eshaacacia,
This is a really old report from a much earlier version of MediaMonkey for Windows. What version/build of MMW are you experiencing this with?
If it's with MMW 5, can you let us know if it occurs with the latest (build 3053) version of MediaMonkey 2024 at:

(note: please use the beta build, and if it crashes, share the crash ID here).
Thanks!
