new ios 18 trouble

Re: new ios 18 trouble
Problem solved and it was the version of iTunes I had installed. Before my Win 11 upgrade, I had the right version. After the upgrade I had the Microsoft Store version. MM told me about the issue but I went to Apple to get iTunes and I had forgotten that what I was getting from that site was actually the Microsoft Store version. Oddly, MM didn't tell me I had the Store version any more and acted like it was actually copying files, but wasn't. Through this process I got acquainted with Apple Music, Apple Devices and Apple TV apps, all of which seem to be in conflict with the MM/iTunes infrastructure. I fear a mess when most Windows 11 systems get updated to the latest release, not even mentioning the Windows problems it created for me.

Re: new ios 18 trouble
I installed the 3061 debug version and it worked in that it did recognize my iPhone 13 running ios 18.0.1. The issue is one I have had for year where it takes forever to synch a playlist. Playlist that should take a minute (5 titles) takes 5 to 6 minutes. If I synch 30 to 40 titles it can take 20 minutes. Unacceptable.
Any new help on this issue?

Check the Auto-Conversion settings. It can slow Sync down.

Re: new ios 18 trouble
I will check this option. Thanks for the quick response. Could you clue me into what those options should look like?

Please see link, you don't want to have any Auto-Conversion if not needed.

Re: new ios 18 trouble
Thanks lowlander. Seems to have worked. I do think (although I have not pulled a test) it is a little faster. My larger playlists are taking about 30 to 40 minutes to synch as opposed to 90 minutes so I did see improvement but performance is still much worse with MM5. MM 4 screamed when synching and I could synch all of my playlists at once. Since MM5 I can only synch one to 4 playlists at one time.
Gonna check out tagging next.

Re: new ios 18 trouble
Could also be iOS 18 being slower. How does syncing more content fail for you?

Re: new ios 18 trouble
I don’t know if it is too many playlists at once or the cumulative size of the playlists is the problem but at some point in the synching, MM5 just stops synching. I am dealing with this as I only synch when I need to and it is only ever a few playlists at a time.
When I upgraded to iOS 18, Apple did not migrate my music so I had to synch all of my playlists again. Took about a day.

Re: new ios 18 trouble
Please capture the Sync failure in a debug log (step 4b) and attach the log to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643
This will help a developer analyze why this happens on your setup.
