Initiating a WiFi sync from my Android phone gets a "Sync error: Connection failed! Server inaccessible" error when MediaMonkey is not active on my PC (no window open). WiFi sync works fine when the MediaMonkey window is open on my PC.
Leaving the MediaMonkey window open 24 hours a day on my PC would work but I have no reason to do so. I need to open a MediaMonkey window only to maintain the database. Other Android music apps I've used ran their PC app in background and I could sync music with my phone anytime I was in WiFi range.
I can't find anything in the MediaMonkey help system about background syncing. Did I miss something?

Re: WiFi sync error: Server inaccessible
MediaMonkey needs to be running to be able to Sync with it. You can install the MediaMonkey Service, so it runs in the background.

"You can install the MediaMonkey Service, so it runs in the background."
Thanks, Lowlander, that sounds just right. I've now searched the forum and the main MM site but haven't found anything about the Media Monkey Service as a separate download or a feature of WMM5, the current version, which I'm running on my PC. It doesn't appear to be listed as a feature of MM Gold, which I'll purchase if needed.
I'll keep looking but can you point me in the right direction?

Re: WiFi sync error: Server inaccessible
It should be under Options > Media sharing (not available in a Portable Install).

Re: WiFi sync error: Server inaccessible
Correction: I believe I already have the Gold license.
Re: WiFi sync error: Server inaccessible
Thanks again, Lowlander.
Tools/Options/Library: Media sharing/Install as service... took me to Windows Media Server, which asked me for a password for a username of which I have no record. I tried my Windows login password and my Microsoft account password (neither uses the suggested username).
Trying another tack, still in the Media Sharing window, I tried the "Add..." button in the upper area and got a window that uses the term MediaMonkey Server! But I don't know if this is what I'm looking for and what setting will turn on background operation when the MM window is not open. Can you help?

Re: WiFi sync error: Server inaccessible
You need to enter your Windows logon credentials. It should be the same Windows User as you're running MediaMonkey with.
