Hello!

I would like to import my .WAV itunes collection into MM.
Importing of the media files is not a problem however the metadata we have in iTunes 9.1.1 can not be converted to the MM library.
Since it is not stored into the .WAV file itself.

We tried using the iTunesMonkey script. But this is giving an error.

Any ideas?
Thanks,

Art using iTunesMonkey option: not working

This picks up from my last post in the thread 'Still baffled by auto-tagging from web '. The specific subject on which I'm focusing has now changed specifically to using Artwork from the Web (AfTW) using the iTunesMonkey (ITM) option.

Hopefully this illustration clearly explains the problem I'm having:

No doubt it will turn out to be user error but after many hours I still can't see what I'm doing wrong. :(

I've just realised that it might have been more appropriate to post it to the dedicated thread about this script, i.e.
http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... &start=105

If so, perhaps Lowlander could move it please?

But meanwhile any feedback right here would be welcomed please. :)

Anyone able to reproduce the behaviour I described?

This is unrelated to the script. Most likely there is corruption with this particular file.

Nope, I tested it on many tracks (files) with identical results.

Did you try reproducing, with a single track?

But I've just spotted something which I'm about to pursue after dinner:

It would be good to hear from the author, but I'd appreciate any feedback from any other users of this tool please. My carefully constructed illustration should make it easy to try reproducing.

Many hours of tests seem to have narrowed the issue down to that strange result shown in my post last night. Can anyone suggest a likely cause for the add-on to store the image within the Windows \TEMP folder please? That obviously explains why the artwork has such a brief existence. The Amazon options are storing it correctly, consistent with the settings here:

I use this with single tracks on a regular basis. Artwork disappearing is usually a file corruption problem. Did you try to tag the track(s) in question by some other method and see if the art sticks then?

Very odd. I answered this promptly yesterday, but no sign of it today. Maybe some side effect of my HD problem. Here's another try:

Yep, using the Amazon options. Guess you didn't see my subsequent post in which I mentioned that?

Apart from the 'not sticking' issue, I'm getting very poor results from this option. Here's a typical example:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/401 ... ple-03.jpg

Of course, there's very little chance that you will have that album, so you won't be able to try reproducing my result. But if you can tell me an album you have for which ITM did find the tags and art successfully, then I'll try to get hold of a track or two and test it here. I'm determined to find out why you get such good results and I don't. :-?

Maybe it's just that my tracks (and me!) are so ancient? Perhaps it only works well for say post 70s releases or something?

My music is mostly newer. But if you want an example where it worked fine then one is the new Beck album "Morning Phase".

Ok thanks. I downloaded the album but as you see from these two illustrations I had the same bad result.

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/401 ... Test-1.jpg

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/401 ... Test-2.jpg

Later today I will try uninstalling and re-installing the add-on(s).

P.S. My download had the genre as Indie Rock but after the auto-tag it's now Alternative. Correct?

Strange thing. I tried it with the same album. I double checked that in the itunesmonkey options the Artwork is checked.

But - excatly as you - I don't get any cover saved in my track. None of the itunes modus (match, search, monkey) works. Don't even with CTRL-S from the MediaMonkey-Trackview (= synchronize Tags from MM-Database to the single track ID3tag).

The main reason for me to use this Addon are the metadata like artist, title, year, album and other informations. Not the cover.
Would be nice to hear what the problem could be.

Just for the records:
That was my fault! I tried to recognize tracks from 'My Computer' node. That doesn't work with this script.
I you have to add/rescan it into the database first!
Please read my detailed requirements in the next post.
