[REQ] Playlist Panel

Post by Stilgar »

Hi,

the most valuable feature for me in MM4 was an addon called "Playlist Panel". Unfortunately its not compatible with MM5.
It was a very smart way to mange tracks and playlists. If you select a track you can easily see the playlists its connected to and change them just with a simple click. The panel is on the right side just above the playlist with the single tracks.

Please add this feature to MM5.

PS:
I tried to share a screenshot but i always get a message that im not allowed to us a link to an external picture host. How can i do that?

That does what he asking for?
I only understand what the addon did from his description, but I cannot see that functionality at the link the you provided.

Stilgar, you can see which playlists contain a specific track in a couple of ways:
  • FindMoreOfSame>Playlist
  • The File Properties panel (Shift+Enter) ... is in the Classification panel
Neither of these give a simple one-click way to remove the track, or flip it to a different playlist ... if that is what you are asking for?

Thanks for your answers but as Barry4679 mentioned that is not what i am asking for.

A picture says more than 1000 words but I cant add screenshots because of this:
If you're a new or unregistered user you can't post URLs as a spam prevention. Add spaces in the URL like https:// website. com/moreURL to post the URL anyway (the link won't work at this point, but a moderator can fix this).
Please fix the link for me:

I use this panel for example as an easy way to add new tracks to playlists after adding them to the database.

@Barry
For your better understanding:

ATTENTION: does NOT work with "MagicNodes"
ONLY FOR MediaMonkey Vers. 4
Does NOT work with "autoplaylists" or "imported playlists"

I took the trouble to make PlaylistManager functional and also to expand it.
- Dockable and sliding window
- Display mode: ONLY Tree
- Track mode: ONLY Selected track
- ONLY works with ONE marked music file
- Optional updating of a selection identifier in a selectable target field
- Menu: ... VIEW ... Playlist Panel

Testskin Dr.Sol Player Special 1.2.3.

I have a suggestion for MM5.
(This has already been added to the to-do list).

https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=17602

Playlisten verwalten ganz leicht gemacht.
Bei jedem selektierten Song sollten die Playlisten, in denen der Song vorkommt, mit einem Hakerl gekennzeichnet werden.
Hakerl entfernen: aus bestimmter Playliste entfernen
Hakerl hinzufügen: in bestimmte Playliste einfügen
Weiters die Möglichkeit, die Sub-Playlisten automatisch zu erweitern.

Dies ist im Interesse sehr vieler Benutzer.

Google-Translator
Hello developers,
Managing playlists made easy.
For each selected song, the playlists in which the song appears should be marked with a check mark.
Remove check mark: remove from certain playlist
Add check mark: add to specific playlist
There is also the option of automatically expanding the sub-playlists.

Shouldn't you reach ALL users, regardless of whether they need it or not.
I think album collectors are happy with the album management.
And the playlist-enthusiasts should be made happy too.

I'm using the original version from here:
viewtopic.php?t=46505

It worked also in MM4.

That is not the version by Erwin. I don't know what exactly are the differences of the "extended" version by Erwin.

Please keep it simple. I like the way the original version worked.

Hello Stilgar,
I saw your picture today (03.01.2022).
This is exactly the reworked script from "eepman"
The window has no system bar and is therefore not "dockable".
I've changed that too.
I offered my work to "eepman". However, he never replied.

"CeeDub" is developer "Playlist Panel" only for MM3 !!!
I can't find a download link for "PlaylistPanel" (I would like to test it for MM4. )

"eepman" has rewritten this script for MM4 and calls it "PlaylistManager"
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=64499

However, this version was not really suitable.
I reprogrammed this variant for myself and is designed for ONE selected song.
