Searching with no results

Hi,
In my collection I have a number of songs by the artist: J.T. Brown.
When I use the search box with the criteria of: "J.T. Brown" in quotes, I receive no results. When I remove the quotes it works just fine.
Not sure if this is the expected behavior.

Please try with build
2607+ as this should be fixed as:
https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=18708 and it works for me.

This is in ver. 2607 exactly the same.
I have an artist "B.B. King"
B.
B.
One space
King
B.B. King -result is OK
B.B.King -no result
UPDATE: "B.B. King" - result is OK

Thanks guys. I was concerned with the spacing so I had copied/pasted the artists name. Currently I'm using 5.0.2.2531; I'll wait for the next official release as I have customized MM pretty heavily and it's a pain to reconfigure all the time.

"B.B. King" works for me on 2607. Be aware that it is case sensitive when you put it in quotes.

Why doesn't the tool tip, and the online Help Text, advise that double quoted search strings are case sensitive?
The +Xxx format mentions case sensitivity.
But there is no mention for double quoted terms.

But it doesn't work in "Find more from the same > Title".
I like to check new added Track against the DB for Doublettes this way.
"You’ll Never Walk Alone" is an example for the disfunctional search.
Switching the criteria to "contains" and deleting the part with the ' is a workaround, but not very fast.
Edit: Thx Barry (I have to practice)

It works if you change SearchMode in Tools>Options>Library>Search
example:
default setting: a search of youll finds you'll
change default of "Ignore diacritics/match beginning"
to "respect diacritics/MatchWitinWords"
then search of you'll (using FindMoreOfSame or a Contextual filter) finds you'll

I'd switched to Barry4679's settings.
There can be an additional problem caused by different coding of the '
I found two different hex codes for that character in my tracks:
a) 27
b) e2 80 99
So the search doesn't find all my Darlin' s.

Bump.
I see that I can log into the MM Help text, and fix this myself.
Is there any issue with me doing that?
Or do you think that the help text is already clear enough?
I don't think so.

This is NOT the case with the following setting:

OK, that is good to know.
That is not covered in the Help Text either.
I wonder if it is a bug BTW. It doesn't make much sense to me, that the default action for quoted text is to be case sensitive (as advised by LowLander, and as we can see by testing MM5).
But the same thing is not case sensitive if the default option is overridden so that MM5 filtering becomes sensitive to special characters.
And even if it does make sense to people who use those characters, it makes no sense that the rules are not addressed by the Help Text or the tooltip. ... I guess that we agree on that point?
Here is the relevant Help Text

Ok thanks. A heads up, since your earlier post confirmed the bug as being the expected behaviour, would have been helpful.
Continuing on with regard to corrections to the Help Text the following statement is incorrect;
Respect diacritics / Match within words will not find André Rieu when searching Andre Rie or ndre Rie (you'll need to search for André Rie to find a André Rieu as search matches special characters and requires the start of the word).
Since I appear to be able, should I make the correction myself, or do you want to attend to it?
