Latest version of MMW5.
Just installed it yesterday, upgrading the DB from MMW4.
Used it yesterday and early this morning, no issues.
Fired up MMW5 about an hour ago and I noticed it was taking forever to scan the flac collection.
It usually does this in less than 30 seconds.
I only have 5052 flac files in there...pretty small collection.
It took it an HOUR to scan the flac files but it scanned the 6700+ MP3's in 30 seconds.
All of these files are on the same NAS.
When it was done, I highlighted all tracks under the flac collection and it says there are 10104 files.
Exactly double of what I really have.
What the hell is going on here?

Re: Database suddenly shows two copies of every song.
Does 1 copy have no drive letter in their Path?

Re: Database suddenly shows two copies of every song.
They have identical UNC paths showing.
I don't use mapped network drives.
Here is something I just noticed that has me scratching my head.

Here is something I just noticed that has me scratching my head.
- If I look at "All Tracks", there are two copies of every song showing up with identical paths as stated.
- When looking at albums, and then clicking the cover art to see that album, again two copies of every song shows up.
- The "new copy" of every song has had the play counter reset to zero and the last time played data is blank.
Who knows what else is wrong with the data there...
- If I go to location and expand the artist and then click on the album, it looks normal.
Only one copy of each song shows up just like it should.
Even has the play stats correct and everything.

Which Build (Help > About) did this happen on?

Re: Database suddenly shows two copies of every song.
You could remove the recently added files (the duplicates) from MediaMonkey (database only) and try scanning again. If it duplicates again please capture it in a debug log (step 4b) and attach it to a Support Ticket: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=86643
This will help a developer analyze why this happens on your setup.

Re: Database suddenly shows two copies of every song.
How do I make sure it removes the duplicates with bad data and leaves the originals with the good data?
Do I have to do it manually?

Re: Database suddenly shows two copies of every song.
Yes, manually remove the recently added files. You can sort on Added. Do verify your selection seems correct.
You can backup the database before this, so you can return to the current state if it went wrong.

Re: Database suddenly shows two copies of every song.
Got it cleaned up.
I have it set to scan at startup and the scenario did not repeat when I fired it up again.
Hopefully it was just a one time glitch.
Thanks for telling me about "added".
Not sure I would have found that without that hint.
