Screen Saver question

Post by Blackcat12 »

Curious; is there an option for a screen saver or any customization that I can do to set one up?

Specifically, I would be interested in setting one up that would be a floating Album cover with configurable metadata elements displayed. I sometimes cast to my TV and this would be really handy and prevent burn in. The 'Now Playing' box from the right side panel as a floating screen saver object would work for what I am thinking about.

Thanks!

Maybe the Playing node and it's view could do something you are looking for?

Note that you need to right-click the background image area there and select "Show full screen"
You can then cycle artist images, artios bio, lyrics, etc..

Thank you for the feedback, Ludek!

This is not exactly what I was looking for, but it is a pretty good option.

There is an inconsistency in behavior though between layout views. If you select 'Chose Layout' > 'Album Art', the player and controls will go away in full screen mode. If you chose Layout > Lyrics, then the static player and controls remain. Is this a bug or the intended difference in behavior? The problem with displaying the Album Art view is that it is static for the duration of the album whereas the lyric view changes with each track.

Thanks!

Are you looking for this on your TV or PC? On the TV (when using DLNA/Chromecast) it's up the client on how content is displayed.

It is not DLNA. It is mirrored from my PC to TV. I am wanting to have some meaningful information float around the screen rather than the windows screensaver. Like a graphics sent from MM that prevents the windows screensaver from kicking in, perhaps via visualization plugin?

You could use Preview set to Visualization and the window maximized, however I think non use Artwork, but some will show Artist - Title on file change.
