Hi,

i just found the link to enable Beta Testing (thank you by the way) and Beta Thread and starting using the app.

So far it is working good for me, however I have 3 Bugs (Android 12, Samsung S10e):

1) Widget stays the "old design" no matter what UI i pick. I guess this is a bug. Can you please also add transparent percentage option?

2) Album Arts:
a) Some Album Arts (5 out of 800) are not displayed correctly in the App (however are displayed by other Apps including MM Desktop App).
b) When this songs are played, the album art default picture is not shown in the "playing line" at the buttom but it still shows album art from the last song (that had an album art). The Icon in the Notification Bar is "the default album art picture".

3) (maybe i did not find the option): The Lockscreen widget only shows up when "all lines are showed" --> my guess: priority is too low.

and 2 Feedbacks/Questions:

4) Overall functionality looks good, but the UI is still "not really 21th century" to me. Only BlueWhite is working for my eyes and it still looks like something from the 90th Are there going to be new designs added in the future or can other people create designs?
5) It says update to MM5 before sync. Is MM4 not working or is there a risk to brake anything?

Thanks for the feedback! To answer your quetions:

1) There aren't any changes in the widgets (but they should appear round on Android 13 / square on earlier versions). We hope to improve this in a future version: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=15001

2) a) There's a known issue that artwork isn't displayed correctly if the album is unknown ( https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=19760 ). Is this the bug you're observing?

b) I'm unable to replicate artwork for the previous track displaying in cases where the missing artwork album is displayed. Does it always occur? Is it related to the screen display going to sleep? Can you share a debug log ID when this occurs? (Help > Send logs).

3) I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Can you clarify? (btw, what device are you using?)

4) We won't be adding more skin options for 2.0. Perhaps for the future we'll make this more configurable, but nothing concrete atm.

5) MMW4 works fine, except that it hasn't been updated to support fields that are newly syncable with MMW5.

1) i can not access the page.

2) nope, i dont have an issue with sync. The album art can be displayed by media monkey desktop and any other android app but mma beta 2.0., also album is clearly stated in the file (see picture

When displaying all elements (by pulling the lockscreen down) it is shown on the lock screen:



Other apps (e.g. Podcast App AntennaPod) are shown directly (without pulling it down):


My guess this is due to some priority (i use nova launcher as app).

5) so i can use mm4 and mma2 beta to sync like i did woth mma1 as before?

I tried, but both proposed sites (and more i tried) did not work on my cell phone with firefox.

It worked at home on my deskop ---> post edited.

Me too have some issues with album arts that are well in MMW, but not in MMA.

There is an addon for MMW5 that fixes album art issues automatically. Most of the time, if not always, this addon cures all issues in bulk mode and afterwards, after a new sync to MMA, the art is OK on Android, too.

Thanks for the images/clarification. To answer:

1) I fixed the link

2) I suspect that the issue is that the 'missing' artwork is cached in MMW and looked up in MMA. To elaborate/clarify:
- In MMW, does '...And Justice for all' have a "diskette" on the artwork (in order to save it)? If so, it means that the artwork was looked up but never saved (which is why it wasn't synced) (aside: this could also explain why the addon that Zonky mentioned would help--because it probably saves all cached artwork).
- In MMA, is it configured to lookup the artwork of the currently playing track (but not save it)? That would explain why it appears in the player.

3) In recent versions of Android, the lock screen player is generated and controlled by the system. What version of Android are you using?

5) Yes, MM4 should be able to sync with MMA2 as in the past.

Nope, the cover is really stored in the music file and synced correctly and can be displayed by all orher apps i use (e.g. VLC). It is an issue in mma 2.0! I really take a lot of care that all my files have album art and are tagged correctly.

I use an s10e with android 12.

Does this mean that storing the artwork in the music file is taking [a bit] more space? [Compare with one image for all the music files in that folder/album/whatever?]

Yes, as the same images is stored in each file instead of once per Album. However generally embedded Artwork works more reliably as the media file has no direct link to the externally saved Artwork file.

[Maybe too simplistic...] But, @Lowlander's comment is absolutely true. Having the image in the music file avoids all kinds of issues with a "single image" in the album folder and then "linking to it".

As stated above: this is exactly what i did and it still raises the issue on 5 albums!

I'd recommend deleting the files from your device. Then in MMW5 check that the correct Artwork is shown as first Artwork in each of these files and then Sync them with MMW5 to the device. Does that work?

If not, are the 5 files on Albums? If so, do other files on the same Albums work in MMA?

Note that MMA only uses 1 Artwork per Album.

build 1070 fixes the album art issue that was associated with your debug log. Can you let it know if it works for you?
