Songs not listed as Played when casting to Google devices [#20592]

Songs/playlists played on an Android phone (OnePlus 9 - MM Android v.2.0.0.1157) on Bluetooth headphones will show as Played (date played and updated play count) when synched up with MM for Windows.

Songs/playlists streamed/cast from an Android phone (OnePlus 9) to a Google Kitchen display or to a TV with Google Chromecast will not show as Played nor will the play count update when synching back to MM for Windows. Modifying the song while casting (such as adding/removing star ratings) will be saved and the updates synched back to MM for Windows, but the song will not show as being Played, nor will the play count update.

This seems to have started with release v1156(?) and was not fixed with v1157.

I have the same (or a very similar) problem. If I play tracks on my phone only, the “Last Played” date in MMA does update. However, most of the time I cast my MMA tracks to an amplifier via Google Chromecast Audio. When casting, “Last Played” often does not update. This is important to me because many of my AutoPlaylists are based on the “Last Played” date.

Just a "me too" post to say I have the same issue. My favorite playlist is autogenerated "not recently played" but I usually cast to Google Home devices. When I do this the "last played" property doesn't update. If I replay the same song without casting, the property does get updated when the song ends.

Hi,
I still can't replicate last played not updating on casting.

For me it updates normally to both Samsung TV and Nexus Player I tested for 3h of playback and all 40 tracks had updated Played # and Last played.

Perhaps he issue is specific to certain google cast devices as I was able to replicate this. Tracked at:
