[REQ] Make it easier to switch between casting speakers [#21197]

If I select my chromecast speaker "A" and click on the cast icon again the cast details view is shown.
If I physically change the room and want to switch to the corresponding speaker "B" in MMA I first have the click "stop casting" what closes the cast details view. Then I have to click on the cast icon again and select speaker "B".

I would like it better if I just could switch to speaker "B" without having to first disconnect from speaker "A". That would save me some clicking and would reduce the duration of silence.

What do the mods say?

I do not really get the sin of the current "cast details view" when casting is active.
What do I need the play/pause button and artist, title and album art for? All this things are already shown in the main playback view. Also the volume control can be done through the hatdware buttons. For me the current "cast details view" is only showing redundant content.
Instead of that this view should make it easy to so see the current casting device AND switch to another.

I believe that our casting implementation relies on Android system APIs / UI, and the current implementation is constrained based on their design. But I've entered the issue at https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21197 to see if it's possible without completely changing our implementation.

Ah ok. The podcast app AntennaPod shows a similar casting info screen like MMA does with no option to directly switch to another speaker. So I guess you are using the same machanism.
VLC app does it better with the desired possibility to directly switch to another speaker, like you correctly described in the ticket.
