I bought the 5 set Gomez album set which has a generic picture for the compilation, when I play a track I haven't played recently I categorise the song correctly into one of 4 Gomez albums, and the extra disk contains the tracks from "Five Men In a Hut".
At one point I had quite a few albums and once I deleted the generic cover Media Monkey android filled it with the correct cover.
Somehow the covers seem to have disappeared, apart from those of the compilation cover. When I find a track with the compilation cover I delete it, but now when Media Monkey does a search the search only lasts around a second and no cover is found.
The only album covers that get retrieved are for "Bring It On" and ""Five Men In a Hut"
Can't Download artwork for band Gomez

Re: Can't Download artwork for band Gomez
For the moment this seems to have been sorted, but I find that album art is not prone to stick. As I remember the first time I had Mediamonkey on the phone that after editing the 5 CD set Tags to correctly reflect the album names, I added artwork for all the albums, just for them to disappear some time last year.
Album Artwork download from the phone fundamentally broken
In the past couple of months it seems to have totally broken down.
It first seemed to suffer from non-standard album covers being downloaded. The best artwork is the actual CD covers, yet you often get a smaller picture of the cover inlayed within a white border, or you get pictures of the actual CD.
However often you get the kind of album art results you would expect a long way down the search results, with full artwork being first, then alternate covers from other releases and then maybe after that pictures of the CD.
However now often the artwork just seems to be totally empty. Artwork download often isn't even repeatable, I might get a good cover so I will add the rest of the tracks without covers from the particular album to the playlist and get the artwork downloaded for them, only for a subsequent track getting a totally different cover from the one before it.
Sometimes when you download the artwork for one track, the others you have added to the playlist seem to get the cover too. However when you go to the album view only the track you added to it actually has it.
Sometimes you find that in the track list the album art is empty but the same track in the album view is showing it (but maybe not other tracks).
So I might try to fix it by deleting the art from one track (because the playlist item shows no cover but the bin icon is still present, so you try to fix it by 'deleting' the artwork) but it often takes out the rest of it with them.
Then non determinism has so far scuppered my chance to get the original artwork for Nevermind, as one day it didn't download the creepy AI replacement cover, and got the correct art, so I deleted the creepy ones, but the next artwork download attempt decided to go back to the creepy cover.
Nevermind was definitely an album that earlier in my use of Mediamonkey for Android had had the correct artwork which at some point just disappeared, and the same with Nerina Pallot's first album which did originally download and now seems to not be at all possible to get.

Why does album artwork in Mediamonkey sometimes disappear after being added, even after correctly editing album tags?stonefree wrote: ↑Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:33 am For the moment this seems to have been sorted, but I find that album art is not prone to stick.
