[REQ] Supporting TMED / MEDIATYPE

Post by frank1969a »

Maybe it's more a feature request than a bug but...:
Is there any way to import and edit the TMED resp. MEDIATYPE tag in MediaMonkey?
It's one of the standard tags I use so it's a little nervy always to change to another tool to edit this...
Thanks!

Hi,
Based on what I see it is ID3v2.x field and except MKV no other formats have it.

Does MM see it in extended tags and how?

Yes, it's ID3v2.3 and v2.4 and Matroska.

Extended Tags don't see it that's why I ask(ed) for implementations for it's a "standard" mp3 tag

Hi,
Can you send DL link for one file containing it in Support Ticket, so that we can analyze?

It is very rare format and limited tag field (standard or not) and as it would be lost on conversions it can be classified as low priority, unfortunately. Hope sample file will show more what we can use out of it.

Hey Frank,

To elaborate/clarify Peke's comment: our general approach is that we'll support tag types as long as there are equivalent/similar forms of the tag across all audio formats. We'll examine this request when we next review supported tag types.
