You can use right click
Play Shuffled.

Are you right clicking on selected files? It's also available under Play in the Main Menu if you have files selected.

That's not what was referred to. At the top there is Play Shuffled, which will add selected files randomly to the Playing.

Note that Shuffle has been reworked for MediaMonkey 2024, and now just randomized the list and plays that in order.

As one of the users who pushed for this new feature, meaning basically that tracks will always play in the order they are displayed in now playing, randomized or sorted or whatever, I wonder why anyone would want it some other way??
- Next and previous did not work properly when playing "random"
- You had no way of knowing if all the tracks in your now playing have actually played.
- You had no idea how many were left to play.
- You could not insert a track to "play next" because it would play something else
- You could not re-order tracks easily
????
