Device Configure Option - long delay to opening

Hi,
I'm using 3070 but this issue has been around since before the 2024 version.

With MM full screen with the Media tree at left, file list in centre with a couple of panels at right, plugging in a previously-seen USB stick (as in, previously synched to MM) fails to elicit any sort of visible response for 20 seconds. As in, media goes in, there is a USB beep, and then literally nothing happens. I'm well-accustomed to waiting for a response, but an inexperienced user might see it as the system again behaving strangely, in this case not responding to the media insert.

My system has MM on an external USB disc which does induce some delays, and I understand that there might be some large quantity of processing involved before the option to configure is shown, but I suggest that offering an immediate response (eg "Media inserted, scanning, please wait") might head off a bunch of unnecessary forum queries for the production version.
