ID's in comment field

Post by CrashMonkey »

Some track files have a id value in the comments.
Tried googling the values but they give no results.

Where do i lookup those id's, and what are they used for?
I am wondering if it is usefull info to keep, if not i might delete them when i see them.

Sometimes there is a discID, which is associated with the disc the track came from if you rip with MediaMonkey. Otherwise it may have been placed there by other software in which case it would be hard to tell what the value means.

So for example, i can just delete these values (each line is a seperate comment):

1B10D412
, AG# FC89B4DC
000016CA 00000BA2 0000DA51 000096E2 00041DAC 00041D5E 00008181 000080CE 000195D0 0003CBF0
FR9W12112826
GBEWA1000361
NLF710600753
There are like 5k tracks with these kind of comments.

Already deleted about 10k comments today, that is not usefull to me.

Were the files created by or edited by other software? Then maybe they put those comments there. They could be some form of Album/Disc identifier.

I have only used itunes or winamp in the past 24years.
Tracks come from everywhere, and i don't use disc.
So i guess i don't need those values.
