[SOLVED] 2024 Collection node criteria fails to find files

Post by peter_h »

Applies to: v2024.0.0.3070 portable on Windows 11 24H2 x64

I have many music files successfully imported into MM, on the path "\\mediaserver\Audio\_incoming\Music from MandD\"

I set up a Collection Node in the MediaTree, with the criteria: Match ANY of...
PATH contains \\mediaserver\Audio\_incoming\Music from MandD\
PATH contains \Music from MandD\
PATH contains MandD

NONE of the above criteria return any files, despite them existing in my MM library and being manually browsable.

Oddly, however, the following criteria do work:
PATH contains \\mediaserver\
PATH contains \\mediaserver\Audio
PATH contains \\mediaserver\Audio\_incoming\

I have tried setting the criteria to "Starts with" to no success.
The files are all located on a local drive.
I have made sure that capitalization is exact, to no success.

Currently evaluating a migration from MM4 (4.1.31.1919 on Win7 SP1/16Gig RAM/intel) to MM2024 (latest Debug version on Win11 24H2/16GB RAM/intel)

**If you're wondering why I'm still on MM4: It still has more useful-to-me plugins; and I prefer the GUI's responsiveness, panes spreadable over multi-monitors flexibility, and predictability (all coz it's more Windows-native). I also hate "flat design" for its visual inefficiency. For me, MM4's benefits are still > MM5, and MM5's downsides < MM4. There still appears to be way less MM5 plugins -- even after all this time. MM5 docs for plugin developers seem very undeveloped to me -- which makes me uninclined to invest into learning how to improve MM5 for my own wants.

Do you have all 3 rules applied at the same time? I'm unable to reproduce. Setting one Path Criteria to Contains part of the Path returns the expected files.

Grrrr... Sorry Lowlander... I screwed up. I was looking at an alternative version I have of MM (multiple portable installations!). I hadn't updated my shortcut to the latest one.... so I was actually looking at a version of mine that didn't have those files in.

So FALSE ALARM!!! ;) It all works fine when I have the files in the DB! Sorry to bother you :\

Can you please delete this post for me? Thanks!
