In version 2024.0.0.3082, trying to rename a directory (either with F2 or with rename in the menu) is hard, the program loses focus on the directory name more often that not, meaning the 'home' key to get me to the start of the directory name actually gets me to the root of the tree, for example, cursors keys move the focus to elsewhere in the tree, in short: not fun.

re-installing 5.0.5.2695 instantly solves this problem.

I'm running it on an up-to-date Windows 10 22H2 Enterprise system.

Can you please explain where exactly in MediaMonkey you're doing this?

I can try - I point Mediamonkey to a SMB share, then have a tree of directories to the left, and contents of the selected directory to the right. I then try to rename a directory on the left of the screen.

That unfortunately doesn't clarify, as there are many places in MediaMonkey you could be doing this, like the Media Tree and Properties. Feel free to share a screenshot showing where you make the edit.

I'll make some screenshots tomorrow when I'm back at work.

I'm listening to the album on the left (green). On hearing the green song on the right, I decide I never want to hear this album again, move to the next folder to play that one and then try to rename the green directory.

That helps explain things. The issue is in the Media Tree and I was able to reproduce both in the Folders and Location nodes, added as: https://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=21440
