Hello,
I have several questions about speeding up the process of hundreds of tag edits. I appreciate any help you can give me.
1) Is there a way to turn off the auto refresh of the column filter? My first round of edits involve updating the album artist. I have dozens of compilations which incorrectly list the Artist also as the Album Artist, of which I'm making Various Artists. Every time I make a change, the tags get updated and my list refreshed to the top of the list. I want to keep it where I am so I don't have to start over.
2) As I hit the up/down arrow, I see the database is updating (something), well after the last actual edit is completed. I don't know what it is doing but it is slowing me up. Is there a way to manually set this as well?
3) Is there a way to identify an album, and if it has multiple artists on it, flag it as such so I can update the Album Artist easier?
4) Are there any other suggestions for doing mass edits such as these?
Thanks again!

5) I found the Multiple Artist Albums - Files to Edit, however, I cannot create a view which only lists the songs. It's grouping them with artwork or its in the thumbnail view. Anyway just to get the song title, artist, album here?
Re: Speeding up mass tag edits
My first idea would be as follows:
Sort by album name, Highlight all the tracks in the album, right-click, properties, enter the album artist there, and OK. This should edit the data for all of the tracks selected.
You can actually also do this from within the "Ungrouped multi-artist albums" view, right click on any of those, it should edit all the tracks of that album name.

1. No, MediaMonkey updates to reflect the changes you've made. Using the Location node may be of help (if Auto-Organize is being used) as the files won't disappear as they're still in the same location when editing tags.

I'm not sure which of my questions you are responding to. Thanks for your help, though.Rob_S wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 10:42 am My first idea would be as follows:

Lowlander, can you address the individual questions please? Your expertise is appreciated.
