Hallo,
I am part of a online station and we have a lot of mp3s, but alot of the mp3s have the tags or file names screwed up. So I feel a feature to be able to get each File info from freedb would be a big help! As i have noticed or i see it the only way to get the info of the files is when rippin a cd. Well i do download alot of mp3s so that fact of burning to a cd and then ripping is kinda stupid
Any Ideas if you can do this?
Cheers Peeps

There's been discussion about this in a couple of other posts. Basically, we want to add functionality if this nature, but it'll take a bit of time.
Note: the next beta release will have a new function that's a first (baby) step in this direction.
Yeah

Go to 'View/Album browser', that shows info for the currently playing track (or other is you wish).

Finally got to play with the baby

Finally I got to play with the album browser for a while. Many tracks are found even if album tag is empty that's really good.
Some notes:
When did Elvis die? Well if you check the album browser he seems to be alive and well. I did stop it at some point but it wasn't finding any albums from before 1990, awkward. My guess lies in that the Amazon DB consists mostly of CD's that they sell, and the ones out of the 60's aren't for sale anymore. This would urge to talk with Amazon or look for a different place to get album information. I would propose to keep using Amazon and use a second source for albums not in Amazon DB. That way we can still buy from Amazon and make you a buck too.
I would change the dropdown list of results to the left side of the album browser and make it a listbox instead. This allows the user to easier see all the results.
I would limit the size of the albumart, this takes up to much space (I don't know if you can do that or that it's Amazon code)
I would include a back (and thus forward) button to be able to easily move back and forward through the results of the last 5 or 20 searched albums.
I think the search needs to be updated to be able to find songs which have the wrong names in the tags, it seems to not be able to find those.
I would change the search text box in an advanced search where three textboxes are used (artist, album, title).
I would like to see the search results searchable. In other words I'd like to be able to search for a song title in the search results so I can find the corresponding album.
I like the datesorting but it should also be able to sort on album and on artist.
Just some thoughts
Oh yeah

I forgot there is some problems finding foreign artist information, I mean music that's in local language and for local public.
