MM8 scans files but does not build library

Hello, I'm using MM8 with the Pro upgrade on a Surface RT. I've installed it and it scans and finds my audio files, but does not build a library. Any thoughts?
The files are on a NAS (WD My Book Live Duo) which is symbolic linked to the music library on the surface.

I'm not sure i understand. MediaMonkey is still empty (artists, tracks views) even when scan is completed ?

Exactly. I can dig down in the folders to the tracks, and it will play them, but no Artists/Albums/Tracks and I can't make playlists...

So you can open and play them using Open command in top app bar ?

Pretty strange. Do you have assigned drive letter to your NAS drive, or using network paths ?

I have, it is mounted as E:\
