Manual Batch Tagging

All of the batch/bulk taggers I have come across seem to auto tag from the web. The closest to what I'm looking for is to tag manually each file individually. What I would like is to be able to batch tag files with custom entry fields for each tag. Is there an option or addon for manual batch tagging that I'm not seeing?

Thanks,
~ Rex

You can edit any number of files to add a value to a field, no tool needed. For something more powerful check out: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 26+Replace

Are you talking about batch tagging that will allow you to create more custom fields beyond the ones
provided or just batch tagging of only a single/a few fields at the "same time"?

I'm not sure if "RegExp" has what I want. It looks complicated and I'm not seeing what I'm wanting clearly defined in it's functions.

I don't necessarily want new fields. Being new to MM I'll try to explain in simple terms what I want...

In MM on the left side there is (for lack of the correct term), I will call it "explorer". Where you can navigate to where you have files stored. If you right click a folder with MP3's, there are 2 options for batch tagging, "Auto-tag from web" and "Auto-Tag from Filename". Neither of these give an option for manually entering text to display on a tag. I would like an entry field for tags. For instance "Artist" I would like to be able to type in what I want to be displayed in artist tag(s) instead of it being auto filled out by the web or filename. And what I type in would be applied to the artist tag(s) for each file in the selected folder(s).

I installed "RegExp", I will try to see if that has what I want in the mean time.

That's what Properties is for, right click on files > Properties and you can edit any field. F2 or slow double click on a field and you can do in-line editing.

That's the Media Tree.

Thank you that is exactly what I wanted.

Might be good to add an option for that in the context menu in the "Media Tree" along with the "Auto-tag from web" and "Auto-Tag from Filename" options?

Thanks Meander, I sorted that after Lowlander pointed me towards where the tags could be manually edited. But it is good to mention how to select multiple files for editing in "Properties" for anyone who comes to this topic searching for an answer.

In the Media Tree Properties does exist to edit the nodes (for certain elements like Artist and Album). Furthermore the node value can be changed with slow double click (like changing Artist value).
