Hey there,

I am searching in the forum the answer since 30 minutes but i don't find it clearly.

I am currently using Itunes and all my music is stored in the itunes library under AAC format.
If I use the add/rescan feature from MM to locate my Itunes library and import it all my music will be displayed in MM.

My question is --> did it created a new library so I can delete my itunes library or should I keep it ?

Then if I should keep the itunes library and I add new music directly to MM I will have two libraries in parallel.

I just want to be sure befor emaking a supid move :)

Thanks all

Yes, MediaMonkey runs its own separate Library. It just imports some data from iTunes if you choose to do so. You can remove iTunes or keep it if you want. iTunes will be required for any iOS device syncing.

Thanks a lot for the clear reply.

Yesterday evening testing to import my itunes library into mediamonkey it import different datas from what I have in itunes.
I mean something just like if it import and older library whereas i consolidate my library and export the file just before.

In itunes I have less files than in mediamonkey after the import and surprisingly some songs are missing.

I tried to play with options but after 10 tentatives i gave up.

Did someone faced the same issue and have a workaround ? Otherwise all infos has been correctly imported

Thanks again for your help

Missing from MM or the PC in general?

Only some data is imported from iTunes, most data is read from the files themselves.

If you're missing files in MediaMonkey use Explorer to check if they're missing too. iTunes may have files in the Library that aren't on your PC anymore.
