Skin viewing problems

Hello, I just installed some skins that I downloaded from this site. I was able to install them just fine but when I enable them if I tick the X to close out the "Options" panel and just leave the main player panel it seems to rest itself and goes back to the original skin. How do I force it to keep the skin I selected?

Would that be that it returns to unskinned?

It goes back to the skin that was on it when it was installed. Its a brown skin.

How do I force it to keep the skin I selected?
