Ripping Multi-CD albums

Hi - often when I rip multi-CD albums of an artist, I get tracks for the album with multiple track "1", "2", etc. Sometimes I manually edit the track #'s so that they are all unique 1...N.

I am wondering how others handle this situation, and would welcome any suggestions for methods to handle this that you like.

Thanks.

I use a different tool for ripping .. it allows you to modify the #s before you rip. But it costs money

Just use Disc# to indicate which disc a files is on.

If you want to instead use only Track# sequentially use Tools > Scripts > Auto-Increment Track #s.

As lowlander says, it is really simple. Just highlight all the tracks on the disk being ripped, right-click and choose properties and fill in the disk number in the Disc # field. No special program needed for that, but any ripping program will allow the user to specify disc number; Exact Audio Copy (EAC) much preferred by audiophiles (and free) does it, dbpoweramp (excellent metadata support) does it.

EAC = http://exactaudiocopy.de/ (just be sure you are downloading EAC and not one of the other things advertised on this page - use the download in the left column)
dbpoweramp = https://www.dbpoweramp.com/

But for standard ripping, Media Monkey is just fine and is easy to use as above.
