Hallo

I want to sync via wifi the ratings (only them) (the settings in 'Auto-sync to library' should be ok)
from MMA to MMW

I set the ratings during the past few weeks.
Now when I want to sync them nothing happens.
It only works after I change the ratings of the songs on MMA (and then change it back to the value I set it). So it seems that it only syncs when the rating-date is updated or whatever.

How can I sync without resetting every single rating?

Did you change the Rating outside of MMA or were they done in MMA?

all the rating is done on MMA

I send the songs with MMW to MMA via usb
(the smartphone as drive; I also don't know why sending the songs to MMA only works via usb and syncing the ratings back to MMW only works via wifi, but that's another story)

rate them on MMA

and (try to) sync the ratings back to MMW library

(and lastly write the rating metatag to the files with 'extras / sync tags')

Am I really the only one having this problem?

How does the metatag (especially here rating) -sync work?

Why does the sync-process not recognize, that the rating has changed since the last sync?

The phone with MMA is an Archos Access 40 3G
Android 7.0
MMA-version: MediaMonkey Pro, 1.3.5.0872
MMW-version: MediaMonkey Gold, 4.1.24.1883

Hi,
You should Update MMA to 1.3.6 (it is released but I guess not reached to all devices) and Update MMW to latest one at http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 54426&sd=d in order to check sync again. We have made several improvements in sync process.

The update of MMA and MMW to the latest versions unfortunately doesn't help. Still the same behaviour

@Snoopi: I can see another difference now: You're using Android 7 - I'm using Android 9.
@Pavle: Whether this makes up the different behavior?
@Pavle: Is the timestamp relevant for synchronization?

My USB-cable-synchronization:
One file in MMW: Rating 1 star
One file in MMA: Rating 5 stars changed by me
AutoSync file Metadata .... : MMA -> MMW
Result: this file in MMW also has 5 stars - works perfectly

My sync-settings are the same as yours.

On my Tablet I have Android 8.0. I'll try syncing with it next days.

As I wrote, when changing rating and immediately sync then it works. But it doesn't work with older ratings.
So it must have to do with the rating-date. Syncing (both via wifi or usb) doesn't see that the rating has changed since last syncing (except the rating is done just before).

I changed the rating for two files on 13.12.2019 in MMA.
Today, on December 16, 2019, I synchronized.
With these two files I have the same ratings in MMW.

The update of MMA and MMW to the latest versions unfortunately doesn't help. Still the same behaviou

The latest stable versions are at the moment:
MMW Gold 4.1.25.1895
MMA 1.3.6.0887 (on all my devices)

On my Tablet Samsung Tab S3 with Android 8.0.0 it works (at least at the moment)
On my Smartphone Archos Access 40 3G with Android 7.0 it doesn't work

So it seems that it doesn't work on Android older then 8.0

I am Beta-Tester MMA 1.3.7.0902 Free: according to the description, it supports Android from version 4+.
Please compare the date and time of all devices.

Is the timestamp the basis for the synchronization?

Not just time filesize also, and MMW/MM5 have flag that track was changed so it needs to be resynced.
