Correct way to rip multiple CD sets?

I am trying to rip a CD set that is a set of 4 discs. When I put the first disc in and select to Rip, it does a lookup and finds the entire set collection (Disc 1 - 4). It says that the number of tracks don't match (because this is only disc 1). Am I supposed to UNcheck the other discs before ripping? Am I supposed to Rip without lookup, then do a lookup on each "Unknown" folder?

I'm tired of spending 30-60 minutes fixing issues from ripping sets so I figure I must be doing something wrong here, but I don't see any documentation on the right way to do this. Any help would be appreciated!

Which version of MediaMonkey and are you looking the CD Lookup (not the Auto-Tag from Web)?

Surely more people here rip multi-CD sets than just me...?

All the time, without issue (on MM5 though), however I'm not sure what exact steps you're taking and you haven't clarified.

Hi,
Same as Lowlander, more than 1k of compilation CDs that had 2+ CDs in box. No issues at all.

1. Open MediaMonkey
2. Put the first CD in the drive, let it read
3. Mediamonkey does a lookup and pops up the window, which shows the multiple-CD set (each CD and all the tracks in the list) along with a warning that the number of tracks doesn't match.

Here is where I get stuck. If I just rip from here, the first disc seems to be fine, but each subsequent disc runs the risk of having the tracks labeled as the first disc, then I have to spend a lot of time trying to fix them.

What is the correct way to do this?

Is this only for one Album you have this problem? Could you attach a screenshot of the window that pops up?

Below is an example. I rip the first disc from a multi-disc set of The Sound. After ripping I navigate to the folder for the album and press CTRL+L; I find the correct compilation entry and select it. I am told that the number of tracks doesn't match (because it's showing me ALL of the discs). I tried following the directions to imbed a screenshot but it's not working, so the link to the screenshot can be found https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MjjnQD ... sp=sharing.

You're using a Third Party Addon so please ask any questions about problems with its use in its own forum thread so the developer can respond: https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... =2&t=72637

I usually rename the Album Name to something more searchable say, Eric Clapton "Crossroads Compilation Disk 01" then "Crossroads Compilation Disk 02" etc. I often find that the disk and Media Monkey get things crossed up and disk one might be "one" or "01" or "1" and two might be "02" or "2" etc without any consistency, so I re-name the Album Name to my preferences. Then Rip, and Auto-Organize if necessary.
