Hi,
When I do a Wi-Fi synchronization, MMA is not updating MMW with the songs that were played. The synchronization always completes in a few seconds but never updates the play count.

Is there a way to force the synchronization? Is there a way to not use Wi-Fi?

I thought that if I disabled the phones Wi-Fi and had a hardwired connection it would sync that way, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Connect via USB to your PC and run Sync from MMW (not MMA).

Which version of MMA and MMW?

I have tried that as well. In MMW, I selected the phone and have tried clicking the little circle arrow and have tried right mouse clicking and select Auto-Sync. I have no playlists to be synchronized....just want the play count to be updated.

Check in the Device Profile (Tools > Options > Portable Device Sync) to see if you have the option to sync back file metadata to the PC and that you still have the content selected to be synced (there is no just sync play counts option). Also were the files played in MMA?

So it was the setting! Somehow the setting was unchecked! I'm good to go.

So, I'm having this problem again.
MMW: 4.1.31.1919
MMA: 1.4.3.0950

Did a Wifi Sync: Said it was updating metadata. After Sync completed, I spot checked a few songs and none of their play count was updated. I have confirmed that the "Auto-sync file metadata from the device to the PC" is selected in the Auto-Sync (-->Library) option for my device. Now when I attempt to repeat the sync, it says everything is in sync.

Now sure how to proceed. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to force MMA to redo a synchronization so that I can play with the settings to try and get the metadata to update?

Just start Sync again no?

It always says that everything is synced....but it isn't.
