How to Improve Search Performance
Updated by Russell Samuels on Nov 13, 2014

By default, the MediaMonkey search bar searches for all commonly used text fields. For very large collections, you can improve search performance ten-fold by limiting searches to e.g. Title, Artist, Album Artist, Genre, and Album fields.

In MediaMonkey 3.1+, go to Tools > Options > Search and select only those fields that you wish to search.

In MediaMonkey 3.0, you have to edit the [Options] section of the MediaMonkey.ini file by adding the line indicated below:

[Options]
QuickDBSearch = 1
