1. I know other people have reported this, but strangely I never had this problem until this build - albumart.jpg is being created in each album folder despite the option to do this being unticked in the device profile in MMW (this is a direct copy of the embedded art, not a scaled-down thumbnail as was being created several releases ago in the album folders). Also, these albumart.jpgs are appearing in the device's picture gallery.
2. Every time MMA is run, it spend about 30 minutes doing something which absolutely chews through battery life. The little spinning circle appears in the top right of the main screen and WiFi sync is not possible until this process completes. I didn't have this issue in previous releases. As the app doesn't give any indication of what it is doing, I don't know what to look for - I think it might be related to rescanning folders due to...
3. The library folder settings seem to be randomly forgotten. Every time I launch MMA, the "Movies" folder in my internal storage is re-selected after having been previously de-selected. The "Music" folder on my external SD card (which is the target folder for WiFi sync) may or may not be selected randomly.
4. WiFi sync is still unbelievable slow, but there seems to be new behaviour which causes even subsequent update syncs to take forever. It takes (and has always taken since I started testing MMA) many hours to sync my selected playlists from scratch after formatting the SD card (which amount to around 3000 tracks). This is actually slower than MTP sync over USB from MMW (which has always been ridiculously slow, but as the SGS3 does not support storage mode, was the only option). Compare this with syncing 1500 tracks to an iPod over USB, which takes about half an hour first time, then subsequent changes are synced in seconds or minutes - the WiFi sync to MMA takes about 10 minutes just to finish scanning for files to sync! It's not an issue with the phone or the SD card, as I can sync other stuff using other apps to the same SD card over WiFi very quickly (e.g. BubbleUPnP). It's something to do with the way MMA works - I just don't know what.
5. A few random tracks did not sync correctly in build 136 and ended up in an "Unknown Artist" folder. When I check the metadata within the tracks, the artist and album artist fields are indeed blank. The original files in Windows are correctly tagged. If these files are deleted and resynced, they sync correctly. Just seems to be random. Didn't have this issue in any previous version.
6. (Probably related somehow to 3) - Just opened MMA and the database is empty. Sync says "Nothing to sync". Checked library folders and the "Music" folder is once again unchecked. Checked it - now MMA is in the battery sapping mode described in item 2, presumably rescanning the library again? As the whole phone is unusable for at least 30 minutes when it is in this mode, I'm not sure I've got the will to wait and see what happens.
And yes, I have done a complete uninstall/reinstall and deleted all data and resynced from scratch (which took a LONG time, as I say!).
Unfortunately, my experience with MMA is getting more frustrating with each build. It has been in development for a pretty long time now and for me, each build I test seems to introduce more bugs than are fixed. I quite like beta testing products, but this has to be the most frustrating product I've ever tested and is just taking way too much time to test as the thing is soooo slow (if I see that "Sync is waiting for other background operations to complete." meesage one more time, I think I'll scream!). This will be my last report of issues with the product as I will be uninstalling and looking for a different solution for faster syncing (probably just take the SD card out and sync directly to it). A real shame as the MMA wireless sync concept is a perfectly good one - it just doesn't seem to be usable, at least for me. I wish the devs the best of luck with the product and I hope other people have a better experience than I've had.
