When reading the following, keep in mind that my operating system is XP Pro and that I have no idea as to Vista differences.
The MM3 database is the one located in a subfolder under the \user\local settings\application data\mediamonkey folder, and it s/b named mm.db.
I really believe that the other database is a MM 2.5 (latest final release version) database, named mediamonkey.mdb. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it is left behind by the uninstall, which does avoid having to rescan your files after a reinstall of 2.5.
In short, I believe everything for the MM3A install should be under the MediaMonkey program folder (or whatever you called it upon your install) except the mm.db file, which is the MM3A database; the mediamonkey.m3u file, which I believe is the saved now playing list from your last use of MM3; and the ini files; all which you have also located.
So, I sincerely think you are seeing files from the two different versions, and that each install only puts files in 2 locations.
If I were you, and I'm not, I would uninstall MM3A7, delete the program directory in which I installed it, and delete the MediaMonkey folder under local settings\application data (i.e., delete the mm.db file & corresponding ini and m3u files), and then reinstall MM3A7 and have it rescan my data.
Remember too that this program is in alpha, and nothing is yet set in stone, even as to database location. For me at least, that means I don't expect as much and am willing to help with hopefully thoughtful comments and suggestions, keeping harsh complaints to a minimum, especially when I'm not sure they're well thought-out.
Good luck, Danny
